Hiya! It's a great trip for kids, especially the smaller ones - music, magicians and play areas. I prefer spending at least one night in Stockholm, sometimes two, because there's always something to do there as it's a much larger city than Helsinki.
Timing is everything in every endeavor. But for this one, depends also if it's summer or winter, because as much as i love taking the ferry from Turku in summer time ,for winter i need to book a hotel overnight, because I can't stay outside 12 hours straight.
5 are ok, but more than that it's a stretch especially like the weather is these days (-20°C minimum)
This is the kind of travel breakdown I actually save. The timing differences matter more than people admit. Turku looks like the clear win if you want a full day in Stockholm. 🚢🌅🤍

One night is my choice too , especially during summer time. More light, more things to discover and more fika :)
